Ah bruschetta, one of the very best ways to enjoy the bounty of summertime. Noticable "brusketta", this traditional Italian appetizer is a best method to record the flavors of garden ripened tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, and olive oil. Think of it as summer on toast!
My friend Dee revealed me the best ways to make it years earlier, and it couldn't be much easier to prepare. It's simply a mixture of sliced tomatoes, balsamic, basil, and garlic, spooned over olive-oil brushed pieces of toasted baguette or rustic bread.
It's best for a party due to the fact that you can make a large batch of the topping ahead of time, in addition to toasting baguette slices. Either bring out a bowl of the bruschetta topping for individuals to put on their own toasts, or do it for them right before serving.
